Doh Eain: Renewing Yangon on New Urban Agenda

Doh Eain has restored over 15,000 sqm of underused space in Yangon—reviving 12 alleyways, 2 streets and 3 playgrounds—through projects deeply rooted in community participation.

Their work has reached more than 50 communities across 15 townships, promoting social cohesion, wellbeing, and a stronger sense of place. With over 200 volunteers involved, their efforts span from placemaking and urban greening to public education and capacity building. Guided by inclusive, human-centred design, Doh Eain focuses on creating safe, vibrant spaces while boosting local economies and promoting heritage preservation. Their long-term goal: liveable, inclusive cities shaped by the people who call them home.
