About the project
Addressing severe heat, water scarcity, and seasonal flooding, this 11-month initiative supported informal settlements and peri-urban communities across Yangon and Taunggyi. Doh Eain partnered with 21 local organisations—predominantly women-led—to design and deliver practical, gender-responsive climate adaptation solutions. Following structured Climate Risk Assessment (CRA) training, community teams prototyped targeted infrastructure solutions and deployed 12 locally managed mini-grants for on-the-ground execution. Alongside direct neighbourhood upgrades, the project published the Climate Adaptation Championship (CCAS) toolkit, documenting grassroots-tested solutions and real-world case studies. The initiative demonstrates how empowering women-led groups can effectively build everyday environmental resilience in vulnerable urban settlements.
