Founder & Director

Emilie has been based in Myanmar since early 2013 working on heritage and nature conservation. An anthropologist by training, she is interested in social business opportunities that make use of and preserve cultural and natural capital while creating sustainable community impact. Emilie is the founder and director of Doh Eain, where she focuses on overall strategy and business development.

Kyros Shirazi
Chief Financial Officer

Kyros is a seasoned finance professional whose career spans more than two decades across three continents. Most recently, Kyros co-founded Lapidary Limited, a Hong Kong-based investment firm focused on for-profit, socially impactful early-stage companies in Asia. Lapidary’s founding thesis believes that private capital can be effectively harnessed to address key social issues in Asia and beyond. Prior to founding Lapidary, his experience includes 13+ years of extensive investment banking work in London, New York, and San Francisco. Kyros holds a B.S. with a concentration in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Dennis Hapatinga
Chief Marketing Officer

Dennis is a seasoned marketing professional with a distinguished career spanning over 17 years, encompassing both below-the-line and through-the-line marketing. He has played a pivotal role in the development and implementation of the Our Heritage Homes brand, initially assisting in establishing the Membership Services team across diverse regions, subsequently advancing to oversee the Sales division, and presently assuming leadership of the Marketing and Communications functions. His substantial expertise extends to digital marketing, new media strategies, database management, and analytics, enabling the optimisation of campaigns. Notably, prior to joining Doh Eain, Dennis possesses extensive experience in managing regional projects for Fortune 500 companies, with a focus on diverse markets including Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, India, Cambodia, Myanmar, and the Philippines.

Dennis is deeply committed to the promotion of sustainable travel practices and advocating for the preservation and safeguarding of heritage properties. He adeptly combines this advocacy with modern technology and digital innovations to further advance these initiatives

Luka Alkafiri
Data/IT Manager

Luka graduated from Damascus University with a Bachelor of Arts in Translation. To follow his passion for analysis and start a new journey, he has successfully completed CS50 and Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate. Luka also has 10 years of experience in Administration and Customer Support.

Lavarel Developer

Uzeyir graduated from the Faculty of Information Technologies of Davit Agmashenebeli University of Georgia and started learning web development in 2019. From January 2021 he decided to become a back-end developer and mastered Lavarel. He now has more than one and a half years of experience as a Lavarel developer.

Tun Ye Wai
Director of Property & Design

Tun is a born and bred Yangonian and an architect. He has worked in the Myanmar architecture industry for over ten years after graduating from Deakin University in Australia. Tun has always been fascinated by the architectural heritage of Yangon. He dreams of making Yangon a better place by getting involved with projects that revitalize the built environment. His mission is to use his education and experience to help shape a society that utilises design to serve the needs of all peoples.

Hau Lian Kap @ Joseph Kap Pi
Construction Manager

Hau Lian Kap, also known as Joseph Kap Pi, is from Kalaymyo and studied at Thailand Wittayalai Vocation College. He is dedicated to preserving heritage and revitalising urban areas. Through Doh Eain, he works on heritage conservation and urban renewal projects, aiming to restore historic buildings and create new public spaces in Yangon.

Ei Thinzar Naing
Architect

Ei Thinzar Naing, also known as Nile, obtained her Master's degree in Architecture from Mandalay Technological University in 2020. With four years of experience in architectural workshops, urban-related workshops, heritage conservation conferences, and architecture design, she has demonstrated a comprehensive understanding of the field. Currently employed as an Architect at the Design and Restoration Department, she also serves as the project manager for the "Our Heritage Homes" creative video project on YouTube.

Nay Myo Htet
Assistant Architect

Nay Myo, a dedicated undergraduate architect and a Young City Shapers alumni, began his internship with us in 2022. His strong passion for heritage buildings, public spaces, and climate-resilient architecture motivated him to choose Doh Eain as his initial architecture practice. Since joining, he has been actively involved as an Assistant Architect in our restoration and placemaking projects, with a vision to enhance Yangon's livability, inclusivity, and resilience to climate challenges.

Community Engagement & Participatory Design - CEPD
Cho Cho Shwe
Head of Community Engagement & Participatory Design

Cho is a practicing architect, graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture at 2012 and has gained more than five years of experience in Architecture. She had been involved in the Secretariat Building Conservation Project and has been working to become a heritage conservation architect. She believes that Myanmar has intrinsic and unique historical heritage and built environment but no specific laws and regulations yet, which is the main reason she joined Doh Eain to preserve and conserve the Yangon’s built heritage as much as possible.

Kyaw Nyunt Linn
Project Manager (Climate & Environment)

Kyaw is a climate enthusiast with expertise in nature-based solutions, urban climate modeling, and geographic information systems. Trained originally as an environmental engineer, he obtained his Master of Science in Urban Environment, Sustainability, and Climate Change from Erasmus University Rotterdam. Before joining Doh Eain, his early experiences were in communication, where he was keen to share scientific insights related to climate change, thereby creating a common language for the public.

At Doh Eain, he has been involved in research projects focusing on urban climate adaptation and mitigation at the community level. As an avid researcher, he aims to shape the urban landscape and microclimate through nature-inclusive design and community engagement to sustain a liveable city.

Aung Zaw Paing
Urban Resilience Assistant

Aung Zaw Paing is a dedicated young professional with a profound interest in urban resilience, climate change, and sustainability. Within his role at Doh Eain, he is actively engaged in participatory projects. Notably, he authored the "Community-Led Climate Adaptation Solution Toolkit," a significant achievement considering it was his inaugural project at Doh Eain. This toolkit features 36 climate adaptation prototype solutions, showcasing Aung Zaw Paing's commitment and expertise in addressing pressing environmental challenges

Auntt Phone Thar
Community Engagement Assistant

Auntt Phone is a GED student who has been actively volunteering in several non-profit youth organisations since 2022, driven by a passion for connecting with people and creating valuable relationships that drive positive change within communities. He joined Doh Eain as a Community Engagement Assistant, specialising in mental health initiatives. His role entails actively connecting with community members and groups to foster and promote the development of mental wellbeing within the neighbourhoods.

Aung Paing Thant @ Ethan
Head of Property & Business Development

Aung Paing Thant, also known as Ethan, is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in business development and corporate partnerships. At Doh Eain, he primarily focuses on crafting strategic initiatives and establishing vital partnerships. He is committed to leading community development projects and excels in negotiation, relationship building, and promoting sustainability in business.

Gulam Hla Tin
Property Operations Manager

Gulam is a former seaman and “jack of all trades”. Gulam’s apartment was the first renovation project under Doh Eain, and he has been involved in all other projects since. Gulam helps oversee construction works, maintenance and supports our tenants.

Thurane Win
Community & Property Business Manager

Thurane brings over five years of experience in professional property management, coupled with a deep-rooted passion for urban innovation. Holding degrees in economics and relevant management, he has consistently contributed to creating positive impacts within communities. Thurane is particularly enthusiastic about his role in restoring heritage homes, aiming to contribute to the development of a sustainable urban environment for future generations.

Thiri Shwe Sin
Community & Property Business Executive

Thiri Shwe Sin holds a B.A. in International Relations from the University of Yangon and is currently pursuing a Master's degree. She benefitted significantly from her participation in the EU_SHARE student exchange program, enhancing her knowledge and experiences during her university tenure. Additionally, completing the International Business Administration diploma course heightened her understanding of business activities.

With past roles in Real Estate, Design and Decoration, and Communication, Thiri now serves as the Community and Property Business Executive at Doh Eain. Her participation in the Fundamental of Interior Design class at the Sukhuma Institute furthered her interest in Home Decorations, proving invaluable in her current position. Thiri initially joined Doh Eain as a Membership Service Intern and was promoted to her current role after three months of internship.

Thiri's dedication to sustainable development, environmental conservation, and heritage preservation dates back to early 2016. Noteworthy achievements include the establishment of the YU Environmental Club and Universities Green Network. Her participation as one of the Young City Shapers (YCS) provided valuable insights into place-making and sustainable urban development, further fueling her passion for heritage conservation and sustainable urban development. Thiri is grateful to Doh Eain for fostering her passion and enabling her to make meaningful contributions in these areas.

Kaung Wai Phyo
Property Operation and Service Executive

Kaung Wai Phyo holds the position of Operations and Service Executive in the Property Management Department at Doh Eain. His primary responsibilities include ensuring timely actions to meet customer satisfaction and maintaining all properties in a safe and sound condition. Additionally, he oversees the seamless upkeep of apartments, promptly addresses maintenance issues, and provides unparalleled customer service. His work is marked by a strong commitment to delivering efficient property maintenance services with dedication and passion.

Thurein Aung
Director of Community Engagement, Public Outreach and Education

Thurein holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Computer Studies, Yangon. After graduation, he worked in the education and tourism sectors before finding his true calling as an avid advocate for heritage conservation and urban sustainability. Before joining Doh Eain, he worked for Yangon Heritage Trust as a program officer, focusing on research, training, outreach, and public relations. At Doh Eain, Thurein leads public and educational outreach programs including capacity-building training, events, webinars, and Young City Shapers initiative. Born and raised in Yangon, he is a history buff and enjoys rediscovering the city’s lost pasts.

Pyae Phyo Zaw
Events & Outreach Manager

Pyae Phyo Zaw graduated from West Yangon Technological University with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering. His aspiration for Yangon is to enhance its livability and sustainability. In his capacity as an Events and Outreach Manager, he plans, organizes, and executes events with efficiency and effectiveness, having overseen the successful coordination of more than 16 events.

Pyae is deeply passionate about volunteering and community engagement, driven by his desire to make a positive impact in his community and contribute to the creation of resilient, vibrant, and sustainable urban environments for future generations.

Su holds the position of Young City Shapers (YCS) and Outreach Coordinator at Doh Eain. In her role, she plays a crucial part in project management, youth networking, and community engagement initiatives. Su's efforts have been instrumental in the successful execution of various community-driven projects, particularly in promoting environmental sustainability across urban and rural areas.

Yamin Htet Htet Thet Lwin
Youth Engagement Assistant

Yamin Htet Htet began her involvement with Doh Eain through the Young City Shaper Program and also serves as a dedicated youth engagement assistant. With a keen interest in public affairs and communication, Yamin is committed to empowering young individuals to actively participate in their communities and effect positive change.

Motivated by a desire to bridge the gap between youth and public affairs, she is eager to utilise her skills in developing compelling communication strategies and initiatives. Her goal is to inform, inspire, and mobilise young people to become informed and engaged citizens.

Htet Wai Hlyan
3ZERO House Assistant

Htet Wai Hlyan, also known as Will, brings a background in architecture and foundational design principles, focusing on the creation of aesthetically pleasing spaces. Presently, at Doh Eain, he oversees the operations of 3Zero House and ensures the seamless execution of events under the guidance of his line manager. A notable achievement during his tenure includes leading his team to the successful completion of the capstone project during his Young City Shaper period. With a strong affinity for heritage preservation and sustainability, nurtured during his time as an architecture student, Will finds Doh Eain to be an ideal environment for his professional aspirations.

Myat Noe Paing
3ZERO House Intern

Myat Noe Paing completed her studies in Civil Engineering at West Yangon Technological University and has a keen interest in volunteer work. She has been actively engaged as a freelance junior trainer for SOGIESC, dedicated to advancing inclusivity and equality in society. Within Doh Eain, her main focus is on assisting with community outreach projects aimed at supporting vulnerable communities. She aspires to contribute to the development of sustainable cities that prioritise environmental friendliness and equity for all residents.

Ye Zaw Khant
Marketing Manager

Ye Zaw is a creative and dedicated professional with a passion for advertising and technology. He plays a pivotal role in leading the development of marketing strategies, database management, content creation, campaign optimization, media plans and digital advertising under the guidance of the chief marketing officer to ensure effective execution.

Outside of work, Ye Zaw finds joy in exploring machine learning, with Python being his favourite language. Additionally, he is an enthusiastic runner who enjoys challenging himself with 10 km runs on weekends.

Nyein Zar Thwe
Digital Marketing Coordinator

Nyein is a communications professional deeply passionate about preserving Yangon's rich architectural heritage. At Doh Eain, she creates content and stories aimed at promoting the development of vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable cities across the organisation's social media platforms and other communication channels.

Outside of work, Nyein enjoys exploring downtown Yangon, uncovering its hidden historical narratives, and deepening her appreciation for the city's architectural gems.

Junior Content Writer & Social Media Coordinator

Phyo Zarni has harboured a profound affinity for writing since her high school years, despite initially embarking on a career in business management and possessing a background in business development from her previous employment. Opting to explore a new professional path in content writing and digital marketing, she joined Doh Eain. Furthermore, the organisation's dedication to urban sustainability and heritage conservation served as an additional impetus for her decision to join the team.

Creative Visual Lead

Soe Lwin is a self-taught designer with 15 years of experience, specialising in visual design, photography, and videography. He learned design basics and software during part-time jobs while studying and continues to hone his skills. Soe Lwin has contributed to various publications and NGOs, showcasing his expertise in design and photography. At Doh Eain, he supports the team with his creative talents and visual expertise.

Junior Graphic Designer

Htin Lynn Thu has over four years of experience in documentary filmmaking and more than three years in visual design within the corporate sector. His additional visual experience includes travel photography undertaken during his university years. Outside of his professional endeavors, he enjoys collecting photographs and book archives.

Thiri’s main responsibilities include organising and enhancing financial processes, overseeing the finance team, and providing coaching and training as needed. Su Mon graduated from Dagon University majoring in Geography. She has almost 7 years of experience in Accounting and has worked in a Senior Accountant position at Myint Mo Oo Carton-Box Manufacturing and Finance and HR officer at Seedstars Myanmar Company.

Si Thu Linn brings over 9 years of expertise in the HR and administrative domains. Joining Doh Eain as the HR and Admin Manager in February 2024, he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Dagon University.
